Demand letter check
Got an ADA website demand letter?
Paste the letter with your website address. We test your pages, match each claim to what our tests reproduce and show you the evidence, so you and your lawyer know what’s real. A factual comparison, not legal advice.
Your letter is used only to match its claims to your results and is never shown to anyone else.
What the claim map shows
Each allegation in the letter gets one of three results, with the evidence behind it.
- ReproducedOur tests found the barrier the letter describes, with counts per page and screenshots.
- Not detectedOur automated tests didn’t find it on the pages tested. That doesn’t prove it isn’t there.
- Manual checkAutomated tests can’t decide it, for example video captions. The report says how to check.
- Reproduced
“Images lack alternative text, so product photos are not described.”

- Manual check
“Product videos do not have captions.”
Automated scans can't judge captions. Check every product or brand video for accurate captions and a transcript.
- Manual check
“Our client is legally blind and uses screen reader software.”
This is a general statement. Test key flows (search, product page, add to cart, checkout) with a screen reader such as VoiceOver or NVDA.
What to do after a letter arrives
- 1
Don’t ignore it, and don’t sign or pay anything before talking to a lawyer who handles ADA cases.
- 2
Note every deadline in the letter and keep dated copies of the pages it names.
- 3
Find out which claims are real: run the free scan with the letter attached.
- 4
Fix the barriers in your site’s code. Overlay widgets don’t change the code screen readers read.
- 5
Keep the evidence of what you tested and fixed, and when.
Why not an accessibility widget?
Overlay widgets add a script on top of your site; they don’t change the code screen readers read. In 2025 the US Federal Trade Commission ordered the widget maker accessiBe to pay $1 million over claims that its product made sites compliant. FTC order, April 2025 (opens in a new tab)

Frequently asked questions
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a factual comparison between the letter’s claims and what automated tests find on your website. Talk to a lawyer about the letter itself.
What happens to my letter?
We use it only to match its claims to your scan. The text is processed by our AI provider to extract the claims, never shown to anyone else, and deleted 7 days after the scan.
Will fixing the issues end the claim?
We can’t say; that depends on the law and your case. The report gives you and your developer a record of what was found, how it was fixed and when.
Does it cost anything?
The scan and claim map are free. The Accessibility Fix Report, with the code for every fix and re-tests, is a one-time purchase.
